प्रश्न 1 : आपकी पूरी यात्रा को कैसे देखते हैं , आने वाले नए स्टूडेंट्स के लिए आपका क्या सन्देश हैं ?

UPSC में साक्षात्कार देने के बाद जब निराशा हाथ लगी, तब मैंने अपना ध्यान PCS की तरफ किया। मेरा मानना है कि बड़ी सफलता में सभी अपनों का सहयोग होता है। अपना कार्य ईश्वर को मन में रखते हुए करते रहना चाहिए, जैसा कि श्री हनुमान जी ने किया।

प्रश्न -2 : आपकी प्रारंभिक परीक्षा की रणनीति क्या रही हैं ?

• बुनियादी पुस्तकों का गहन और संपूर्ण अध्ययन तथा बार-बार दुहराना, परीक्षा उन्मुख एक सम-सामयिक पत्रिका, टेस्ट पेपर्स का अभ्यास यहां बार-बार दुहराना विशेष कुंजी है।

प्रश्न -3 : मुख्य परीक्षा की तैयारी आपने कैसे की , क्या रणनीति रही हैं आपकी ?

• पिछले वर्ष के प्रश्न पत्रों का बारीकी से विश्लेषण, बुनियादी पुस्तकों का व्यापक अध्ययन, विशेष रूप से परीक्षोन्मुख चयनित स्टडी मैटेरियल। प्रश्नों को ध्यान में रखकर प्रॉपर फॉर्मेट (जैसे प्रस्तावना, लाभ-हानि, पक्ष-विपक्ष, तथ्य, विश्लेषण, निष्कर्ष इत्यादि……) में बहुआयामी दृष्टिकोण रखते हुए टॉपिक को तैयार करना।
• नियमित समाचार-पत्र, संपादकीय पर विशेष फोकस देकर पढ़ना। इन सबके साथ-साथ नियमित उत्तर लेखन अभ्यास अति महत्वपूर्ण है। शब्दों के चयन और भाषा के सटीक प्रयोग और उत्तर फॉर्मेट पर विशेष ध्यान। यहां कॉन्सेप्ट एंड ओपिनियन फॉर्मेशन तथा उत्तर-लेखन विशेष कुंजी है।

प्रश्न -4 : इंटरव्यू सबसे निर्णायक भूमिका अदा करता हैं , आपने किस प्रकार से इंटरव्यू की तैयारी की ?

• मूलभूत सूचनाओं जैसे राज्य, जिला शिक्षा,डिग्री, जॉब, विभाग, अभिरुचियां तथा इनसे संबंधित संभावित प्रश्नों के उत्तर तैयार करना। सम सामयिक घटनाओं और मुद्दों तथा उनके समाधान को पॉइंट वाइज तैयार करना।
• किसी भी मुद्दे पर अपना विचार अपनी सोच रखते हुए तैयार करना। किसी भी पॉइंट को तैयार करते समय इस बात का ध्यान रखें कि वो कैसे प्रशासन तथा नेशन बिल्डिंग में सहायता करेगा या फिर आपके अंदर के प्रशासकीय गुणों को परिलक्षित करेगा।
• सह प्रतियोगियों से डिस्कशन, अबाधित/ अविरल बोलने का प्रयास अभ्यास करना। ‘सिविल सर्विस ही क्यों’ प्रश्न को अच्छे से तैयार करना, फॉर्मल और सकारात्मक ऐटिटूड रखना, साथ ही इसमें इंटरनेट पर उपलब्ध मॉक इंटरव्यू सामग्रियों से सहायता।
• वैकल्पिक विषय से संबंधित एक आम व्यक्ति द्वारा पूछे जाने वाले प्रश्नों को भी तैयार करें। साक्षात्कार के दौरान स्थिरता तथा संतुलन कुंजी है।

प्रश्न -5 : आप अपने स्टडी मटेरियल को कितना सीमित रखे थे , किन किन पुस्तकों को आपने पढ़ा था ?

प्रश्न -6 : आपके जीवन की कोई महत्वपूर्ण परिघटना , जिससे आपके जीवन में बड़ा बदलाव आया हो ?

वैसे तो यह मेरा प्रथम फोकस्ड प्रयास था, फिर भी गलत वैकल्पिक विषय का चुनाव एक भारी भूल हो सकती है। वैकल्पिक विषय का चुनाव तीन बिंदुओं में संतुलन बनाते हुए करना चाहिए:

1. Interest
2. Success ratio
3. Availability of study material

वैकल्पिक विषय पर व्यापक व संपूर्ण ध्यान के साथ-साथ महत्वपूर्ण टॉपिक्स पर विशेष ध्यान ।

प्रश्न -7 : इंटरव्यू में पूछे गए कुछ प्रश्न जो आपको याद हो ?

• कोई योजना जिसमें 20 करोड़ महिलाएं लाभान्वित हुई हों।

प्रश्न -8 : उत्तर लेखन , याद करने की तकनीकी , वेहतर उत्तर कैसे लिखे , पढ़ा हुआ कैसे याद रहे या कोई अन्य तरीका जो आपने तैयारी के दौरान ईज़ात किया हो स्टूडेंट को बताना चाहे तो ?

उत्तर लेखन के मुख्य अवयव  निम्नलिखित हैं ?

1. परिचय (Introduction):
2. शीर्षक व भूमिका (Headings – हेडिंग्स) या बॉडी पार्ट ऑफ़ answer.
3. निष्कर्ष (Conclusion)

Secularism in India and it’s need for a liberal Democracy.

Secularism is a modern idea which believes that “the public aspect of life should be free from religion”. Generally it is defined as the separation of religions and politics but at the same time giving religious freedom in the personal sphere. Indian notion of secularism has two aspects:

1. In the negative sense, it is similar to the western notion of secularism. i.e. our legal, education, political, economic system must not be influenced by religion.
2. In the positive sense, Indian state helps every citizen to realize their regligious freedom without any discrimination. This is known as “Sarvdharm Sambhay”.

In India, as liberal democracy, individual’s rights and freedoms are officially recognized and protected and exercise of political power is limited by the rule of law. The notion of secularism is protected by the Indian Constitution through Art. 14 (equality), Art. 15 (no discrimination in employment), Art. 25 (freedom of conscience) and other articles like 26, 28, 29, 30 etc. It also provides citizens, duty to promote secularism through Art. 51A. Secularism is indispensable to India’s future as liberal democracy because:

1. It is multicultural, multi-religious society therefore it needs the state to be secular and not theocratic to indiscriminate the welfare of it’s citizens.
2. In India, communal identity is very strong, sometimes leading to communal riots hence state needs to be secular to bring justice to its citizens.
3. Appeasement politics cripples our political system, it is common during elections. votes are polled on the basis of religion, caste, community etc.
4. Islamic fundamentalism is pushing for adherence to sharia law e.g. Indian youths joining ISIS
5. Refugee crisis (Bangladesh, Myanmar, Afghanistan), putting pressure on communal harmony.
6. Not so friendly neighbours Pakistan, China etc. Trying malign India’s secular image at international platforms. To takle all the above mentioned challenges and keep India as vibrant liberal democracy, various steps are taken like adding ‘secular’ word in the preamble, Abhiram Singh versus C.D. Commachen case prohibiting religious politics by declaring it as corrupt practice in RPA1951. Therefore in India, we can say that secularism allows the state to be distant from all religion so that it can intervene or abstain from interference, depending upon which of these two would better promote liberty, equality and social justice.

 What is the need of social group work in present time?

Social group work is needed by the society for various reasons, new kinds of stress to human.

For eg-

1. Rural to urban migration
2. Nuclear families
3. Both partners are working professionals
4. Increased use of technology etc. It has resulted in dehumanization of human, creating an urgent need of creative human relations.

In earlier times these needs were fulfilled by family members, extended families, village elders etc. But in modern times the size, organisation and functions have changed in the family as a primary group.

Tensions and breakdown are common. Mutual conflicts are suing family life pressing of need for social adjustment. Social group work cannot take the place of family but can surely provide some expences which was available in the family.

Listening to problems of others & providing consultation to group members.

Similarly modern life stule is leaving individuals with many less time to express their creative capability. Social group work can level such members to Showcase their potential through group activites.

Also, due to increased use of technology and automation leisure time availability has increased for many individuals. for eg- house wives. Social group work help such members to use this time constructively.

Social group work also educates the future citizens to accept social responsibility towards themselves and the society. Hence we can say that social group work is the need of the hour of modern times.
